My name is Mariam Armanious, I am currently employed with SA Health in the Central Adelaide Local Health Network at Mental Health Triage Service. I am looking to expanding my career prospects in Family Therapy, Family Dispute Resolution & Collaborative Practice.
I hold a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from the University of South Australia and have been practicing since 2002 and a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. I have been employed with the Department for Correctional Services as an Institutional Social Worker at Yatala Labour and Port Augusta Prisons, the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion with Youth Justice, the Department of Child Protection at Flinders Medical Centre and in SA Health with the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network in the Community Mental Health teams.
In September 2019, I completed my training in Collaborative Practice at the Law Society of South Australia conducted by Bev Clark from Belperio Clark, Garth Craig from MLC Advice and Family Therapist Rachel Jolly from Adelaide Resolution Centre. I was introduced to the world of Collaborative Practice and Family Dispute Resolution. I subsequently joined the Adelaide Collaborative Practice Group and I am a member of the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals (AACP).
In 2020, I decided to further my knowledge and skills by undertaking a Graduate Diploma of Family Therapy through Bower Place and in 2021, I began the Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution through Relationships Australia South Australia. I found my passion in wanting to help families voluntarily settle their dispute without resorting to litigation – a timely and costly exercise and most importantly with significant impact on family members, particularly children.
I have an up-to-date National Police Clearance (July 2021) and current clearances from The Department of Human Services (DHS) Screening Unit for General Employment Probity, Working with Children & Working with Vulnerable People.
