Zinta Harris is a Brisbane-based Accredited Succession Law & Business Law Specialist, Collaborative Lawyer, Mediator, Trainer and Owner of Resolve Estate Law.

Zinta is passionate about brokering peaceful resolutions to family disputes over inheritance so that ‘family wars’ are avoided.

After over 25 years practising as a wills and estates lawyer, Zinta has seen first-hand the impact of estate battles on hundreds of families. She now specialises in helping grieving families stay out of Court and work together to reach an early resolution to their estate dispute.

Zinta’s practice focus is resolving contested estate disputes, Collaborative Practice, Mediation and simplified estate administration. 

Zinta is the author of the book Rest in Peace – how to manage an estate dispute without inheriting heartache.Rest in Peace won the 2019 Australian Business Book Awards Best General Business Book of the year.

Zinta has spearheaded bringing Collaborative Practice to Wills & Estates to help families be well supported to have meaningful conversations about succession planning before death and to support families navigating a conflict over inheritance post death. She has trained estates lawyers, coaches, barristers and financial advisors in the model developed specifically for these contexts, nationally.

Her work in this area has seen her receive the 2021 QLS Agnes McWhinney Award, WLAQ's 2019 Trailblazer of the Year Award and 2019 and Lawyer's Weekly Women in Law—Sole Practitioner of the Year Award.

She is ranked in 2022 Doyle's Guide as "Leading" for Estates Litigation, and won the 2021 QLS Outstanding Accredited Specialist Award.

  • Queensland Law Society—regularly presenting at its annual flagship conference Symposium and annual specialist Succession and Elder Law Conference;

  • International Academy of Collaborative Professionals—presenting at the 2019 IACP Forum in Chicago, Ill.
