Alex joined ATW Family Law in 2012 having previously worked as a graduate clerk with DLA Piper and as Legal Associate to the Honourable Justice Rees at the Family Court of Australia.
At ATW Family Law, Alex’s practice is exclusively in the area of Family Law in which he has developed considerable experience in a broad range of matters, including divorce, parenting, financial issues and pre-nuptial Binding Financial Agreements. He has had considerable experience in high net-worth financial matters, complex jurisdictional matters, and parenting matters involving domestic and family violence.
For most clients, divorce and separation represents one of the most difficult times of their lives. Alex prides himself on his ability to guide clients through this process and move forward with dignity. Alex views his role as solicitor, not to cause further conflict between the parties, but to find and generate practical and creative solutions that meet the needs of his client and centre the needs of the children. Alex prioritises communicating with his clients consistently and in a calm and empathetic manner.
Alex’s clients include professionals, parents, and victims of domestic violence.
Alex completed his mediation training in 2015 and in 2018 Alex completed his training in Collaborative Practice. Alex is passionate about Collaborative Practice as an alternative to litigation that centres the needs of the parties and provides the parties a framework where they can have autonomy over the final outcome of their matter, minimise conflict and move forward with their lives with dignity.
In recognition of Alex’s skills and experience, Alex was appointed as a Senior Associate to the firm in January 2021.
