For the past 30 years, Stuart has helped people to resolve their family law problems, by providing essential information and advice, by mediating and negotiating agreements, and by conducting effective court proceedings. He takes pride in successfully guiding his clients through one of the most difficult times of their lives and leaving them more confident about their future.

Stuart was admitted to practice in 1990 and has been an accredited specialist in family law for more than 20 years.

He is an accredited mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System and has successfully conducted hundreds of mediations as an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. He is also a qualified collaborative family law practitioner.

Before establishing his own specialist family law firm in 2006, Stuart led the family law sections of commercial law firms in Melbourne and Darwin, and the family and civil law section of the Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission.

In addition to his qualifications in law, Stuart holds an MBA with dual majors in international business management and human resource management. In the course of his career, he has lectured in business law and served on the board of Relationships Australia (NT).  He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the current Chair of the Australia Japan Business Council of South Australia.

Stuart is a family law arbitrator and has decided appeals in child support cases as a member of the Social Security Appeals Tribunal. He has served as an Independent Children’s Lawyer appointed to represent the interests of children in complex parenting cases and he is a former contributing author to LexisNexis Family Law Forms and Precedents.

Stuart is a Churchill Fellow, an award enabling him to study cross-cultural family dispute resolution internationally. He is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. He has expertise in all aspects of Australian family law, with a particular interest in resolving difficult or complex disputes, and international family law cases.
